Welcome to my blog. Wait… I got a blog!? Well this outta be interesting. Let me start off my introducing myself and tell ya what you may see here. My name is Chris Martin. I’ve been into computers since high school, playing around in QBasic. So yes, I do know where the save icon came from and I particularly remember how odd it was that they called it a floppy 🙂 I’ve been programming ever since. Even spent some time doing network administration, so I do have a little place in my heart for systems and network security.
After graduating college from DeVry University with a Bachelors in Computer Information Systems I started working full time for InfoSol Inc. I worked for them for 16 years, and couldn’t have picked a better place. I was given many opportunities to explore different development technologies ranging from looking at COBOL code, maintaining C++ code, leaning C# with some in house solutions, all the way thru the wave of RIA technologies (Flex and Silverlight), and HTML 5 in the Aurelia framework.
With growth comes change. I reached out beyond my first career job and started to look for something more. A place where I could reach deeper into being a software engineer. I’ve found that place at Vixxo. There I’ve been given an opportunity to work on some new exciting things. Things were I could not only tap into my previous work experience and knowledge, but also learn new things and continue to grow as a software engineer.
So what will this blog be about? I’m sure by now you have a good idea. Mainly I wanted to blog about my technology experiences. The tricks I’ve learned and things that I may find interesting. Hopefully this would not only be entertaining but also a nice resource to help people get past problems that I’ve run into in various frameworks.
